  • Many things affect the value of different guitars, but there are some guitars that are highly sought after around the world. Solid Body electric guitars by Gibson in the late 1950s are extremely valuable and rare. Many Gibsons from that time period actually go for over a million dollars! Fender instruments produced between 1950 and 1964 are also highly coveted. Limited edition colors are even more valuable. Dreadnoughts by Martin produced in 1933 or later are also very desirable for collectors.

  • When determining the value of your vintage guitar, we look at most recent examples of your piece and what it has recently sold for. Asking prices are not always relevant. Contact us for more information.

  • Yes, we would be happy to travel to check out your vintage guitar collection, estate, or inheritance! We will charge a traveling fee to cover the costs of driving or flying to your location. Contact us to inquire about traveling for appraisals.

  • Verbal appraisals are always free at Vintage Guitar Appraisers. If you’d like or need an official, written appraisal, it will cost $99 as this is a more tedious process. You may need a written appraisal for insurance reasons or a plethora of other reasons, but our verbal appraisals are done by the same experts and are just as accurate as written appraisals.
